At Postmates, our vibrant community of riders, drivers and customers is the core of our business. For this reason, we designed a comprehensive insurance plan to ensure the safety of our fleet and the peace of mind of our customers.
Today, we’re rolling out a tailored benefits package for all Postmates that includes general liability, auto-excess and accident-occupational insurance, to protect the fleet while on-duty:
1. Excess Liability: $1,000,000 limit covering auto-driving Postmates’ liability for bodily injury and/or property damage to third parties
2. General Liability: $1,000,000 limit covering bike-riding Postmates’ for bodily injury and/or property damage to third parties
3. Occupational Accident Benefit: Up to $50,000 per accident for medical expenses incurred by Postmate while on the job
By operating the largest on-demand delivery fleet in the US, it is our responsibility and privilege to offer the best possible protection and safety packages for the fleet. Adding these customized benefits enables our riders and drivers to be carefree while doing what they love on the Postmates platform.
Postmates now have the best of both worlds: flexibility and world class protection. This means the freedom to choose their own hours and accept deliveries when they want, combined with the comfort in knowing they are covered should they be involved in an incident while on the job.
In addition to the formal insurance measures outlined above, we’re also excited to announce a new benefits program, designed around “soft” benefits and perks for the fleet. These benefits include a free membership to the leading primary care service OneMedical, biking gear such as racks and bags, access to a Chrome Industries discount program, and more to come.
